FAQ
Frequently asked questions
How do telehealth sessions work?
We meet by secure video through SimplePractice Telehealth. You'll need a private space, a reliable internet connection, and a phone, tablet, or computer with a camera.
Do I need to live in Oregon?
You need to be physically located in Oregon during each session, because our license covers clients in Oregon.
Who do you work with?
Adults 18 and older.
Do you offer a free consultation?
Yes. We offer a free 15-minute phone consultation to answer your questions and make sure we're a good fit before your first appointment.
How long are sessions?
The first appointment is a diagnostic intake assessment and last about 75 minutes. Ongoing sessions usually last about 53 to 55 minutes.
Do you take my insurance?
We accept AllCare OHP, Medicare, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Moda, UnitedHealthcare and additional plans. Please list your insurance when you request an appointment, or ask us and we'll check.
What if I can't afford the full fee?
Self-pay clients may choose a fee from 40% to 100% of the standard fee, with no proof of income needed. See Insurance & Fees for details.
What is your cancellation policy?
Please give at least 24 hours notice. Late cancellations and missed sessions are charged $45, or the full session fee if lower. The fee is waived for true emergencies and is not charged to Oregon Health Plan members.
Is what I share confidential?
Yes, with a few exceptions required by law, such as concerns about someone's safety. We review these with you before therapy begins.
How soon will I hear back?
We reply to new requests within 1–2 business days.
What if I'm in crisis?
We are not able to respond to emergencies. In a crisis, call or text 988 for the Suicide & Crisis Lifeline, call 911, or go to the nearest emergency room.
